One of the purposes of this site is to help educate our viewers on the benefits of total wellness and the aspects of what being totally well means. We often focus on the physical and good nutrition which is important but only part of the formula. Good nutrition can in fact not only keep you well, it can help you become well through Nutritional Therapy. To be totally well or the healthiest we can be, we must be physically, mentally (emotionally) and spiritually well, however.
Nutrition
Does what we eat, and drink, really determine our health and longevity? Every child has cringed at the thought of having to at least try a particular food that they absolutely hated but were told you MUST eat it to be healthy. There may have even been times when sacrificing good health didn’t seem like such a bad idea. Perhaps that dreaded vegetable (or meat) just did not have to be eaten!!! EVER! Who decided these horrible tasting things were good for you? Eating healthy really is all about balancing our diet in a healthy manner, avoiding over processed foods, and other foods and beverages that are high in sugar, unhealthy fats and over refined ingredients.
Supplementation
Why supplement and how? There are many reasons we may need supplementation to help us stay at our best. Because the foods we eat today are grown in soils that are depleted of nutrients we do not get all the nutrition we need. Plus most of us live very busy lifestyles and therefore the meals we eat may not always best and most healthiest options. Our lifestyles are stress filled because of family and work responsibilities. Also, we are daily exposed to unhealthy environments – chemicals, varied pollution and germs.
To stay at our best we may need some help from sound and proven supplements. This may include vitamins and minerals along with supplements aimed at specific concerns. If we have certain health concerns such as high blood pressure, glucose imbalances, cholesterol imbalances or skeletal strength, we may want to use some healthy preventative supplementation to avoid chemical help as long as possible.
You may also want to use supplementation to boost you and your family’s immune system.
